USAID Supports Gender Integration in Forestry and Climate Change Efforts in Cambodia

Cambodian gender champions put their leadership skills to work at a gender integration and climate change workshop in Phnom Penh.
13 August 2015

Over 30 Cambodian forest and natural resource management officials gathered at a workshop in Phnom Penh this week on “Gender Integration in Forestry and Climate Change”. The workshop was led by Cambodian gender champions who have been engaged for the past two years in USAID LEAF’s Asia-Pacific Leadership Initiative on Gender and Climate Change. This week’s workshop was an opportunity for these leaders to apply the skills on gender integration and training of trainers they have learned through the Initiative, and demonstrate the benefits of effective gender planning to their respective organizations. The gender champions led the training and facilitated group discussions with support from gender experts from the USAID LEAF and USAID/Cambodia’s Supporting Forests and Biodiversity (SFB) programs.
