The agriculture, forestry and other land use (AFOLU) sector is responsible for close to a quarter of global GHG emissions. In Vietnam, the proportion of emissions from the AFOLU sector is even higher at 50%. Despite its importance, the AFOLU sector has traditionally only attracted a small amount of private climate finance.

The agriculture, forestry and other land use (AFOLU) sector is responsible for 58% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in ASEAN member states and across Asia, the AFOLU sector is a key contributor to national economies and rural livelihoods, making it all the more critical to include AFOLU in climate change mitigation efforts.
